How to Get Involved
Thank you for your interest and desire to get involved!
Please join us in placing luminarias or lights in your windows or outside your home starting at dusk (5:30 pm) on Inauguration Night on January 20 to bring light and hope to our nation’s capital. If using luminarias, we encourage you to write a message of hope on the bag. Please share photos on Facebook and Instagram and tag us at @illum_dc and use #illuminationdc hashtag.
For those participating within the District, we recommend doing this in the safety of your own homes, particularly in heightened security areas. We recommend paying close attention to any security alerts to guide you but above all, please keep your safety and security in mind and make sure your light choice is safe and secure.
